We are seeking an Academy Director with a passion for education who will create an invigorating, positive environment in our Bloomingdale, IL location. The Director will guide our staff to achieve their professional goals as well as support and inspire our bright, talented student body. We are looking for just the right person who can recruit, evaluate, and inspire staff in our diverse, exciting environment. Our ideal candidate is a dedicated, results-driven individual, with experience developing staff, building effective teams, and managing conflict. The candidate will promote development and learning at individual, team, and company levels. Strong organizational skills and a courteous, professional attitude are a must!
Candidate Qualifications: Bachelors Degree is required, advanced degree or related experience/training preferred. Minimum 3-5 years professional management experience in a service industry is required. Recruitment and evaluation experience is vital to this position. Required intermediate computer skills encompass MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Internet/Intranet. The ideal candidate can has proven experience motivating staff and has a strong customer service background. The ability to multitask and prioritize is essential. The candidate must occasionally lift and/or move 30 pounds. While performing duties the employee is regularly standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and engaging in repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. The candidate must have extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
Hours of work may vary based upon Company needs; flexibility is a must. The current work schedule is 11am to 8pm. Alternating Saturdays are required. The scheduling needs at Bloomingdale are shifting, and the Academy Director’s work schedule will change in the future to 8am to 6pm three days per week and an evening shift two days per week, in addition to the alternating Saturday shift. Compensation: commensurate with experience. The Bloomingdale Academy is located in the Springbrook Shopping Center on Lake Street near I-290 W. Plentiful free parking is available.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- General operations, administration & management of the Bloomingdale Academy
- Managing full P&L responsibility for Academy operations to meet and exceed budgeted revenue, while holding costs within budgeted levels
- Driving revenue and profitability by managing leads, enrollments, starts, retention, attendance, licensure, and accreditation
- Cultivating and maintaining an appropriate Academy environment
- Acting as a role model for Pivot Point in treating others with respect and maintaining composure and professionalism in all circumstances
- Ensuring the quality of Pivot Point’s educational programs
- Promoting strategies and systems that build diversity and collaboration across divisions and with the broader community
- Supervising all departments within the Academy, including but not limited to: Education, Admissions, Student Services, and Student Salon Business

We are seeking a bright, motivated IT Support Tech with experience supporting PCs, Macs and end users of varying knowledge and company level. As a key member of our Information Technology team, you will assist employees with their software and equipment needs and ensure that all company technologies run smoothly.
Candidate Qualifications: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with Mac/PC break/fix troubleshooting, network printers and operating system software. 1 year hands-on experience in managing Microsoft Active Directory Users and Computers and Group Policy. 2+ years of hands-on Windows desktop support experience. Mac client and serve knowledge and experience 10.4 and up. Mobile device knowledge (e.g. iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Android) is a plus. Good grasp and adoption for new technologies and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate is able to work independently as well as with a group, and possesses strong communication skills and effective multitasking techniques. Punctuality and consistently great attendance is essential. We are looking for a strong customer service focus and a proactive approach in addressing customer related issues and queries. The candidate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing duties the employee is regularly sitting, talking, hearing and engaging in repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement. A flexible schedule is a must, as some weekend and evening hours are required.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Assisting staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines
- Working with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
- Interacting with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment
- Ensuring desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems
- Training and orienting staff on use of hardware and software
- Recommending and/or performing upgrades on systems to ensure longevity
- Working with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software
- Assessing functional needs to determine specifications for purchases
- Ordering computer supplies
- Assisting in maintaining and documenting LAN/WAN records and, as appropriate, telephone systems etc.
- Managing Computer/Hardware Inventory (asset tagging, documentation, etc)

Salon & Education Manager

Pivot Point International. Inc., the world leader in hair and beauty education, is currently seeking a Salon & Education Manager for our Bloomingdale Academy. The ideal candidate will have ambition and a motivating personality to create a positive environment for students, educators and guests.
Major responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain an environment that retains customers through strong customer care, retail sales and a unified understanding of the company vision.
- Supervise all salon operations with Academy Director to ensure achievement of sales goals, business objectives and profitability by following procedures.
- Act as liaison with education department to ensure the educational systems and standards are met. Schedule educator technical assessments and classroom evaluations.
- Maintain a sanitary salon, retail area, and academy through the enforcement of policies and procedures.
- Train all Bloomingdale Academy staff and students on customer service and retail needs as appropriate.
- Recommend and assist in the development of salon marketing strategies to drive sales, to include planning/coordinating in-house promotions, community activities and outreach.
The qualified candidate will meet the following criteria:
- 5+ years experience in a Salon/Spa environment. Management experience preferred
- Proof of active cosmetology or esthetics license required. Illinois Educator license preferred.
- Established retail and product knowledge, with experience in developing promotional strategies.
- Demonstrated experience in education at an advanced level. (e.g., train the trainer, or education for a product line)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, English required

The Education Manager is responsible for leading the Education Consultant (EC) Team in the delivery of Pivot Point International (PPII) content and programs to the PPI network with the mission of growing PPI sales and strengthening use of PPII content within the PPII network of clients as well as creating and leading a freelance educator program, nationwide. The ideal candidate will be able to lead the education teams in ensuring customer satisfaction, effective implementation of PPI products therefore increasing customer loyalty and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will also have key client responsibilities. The results will be driving revenue through the meeting of customer needs and supporting PPII’s financial objectives.
